When you apply to a daycare, we email you a copy of your application with a link to see the daycares you've applied to; that link is how you sign in, with no password. We don't use your email for anything else unless you sign up for opening alerts.

Cookies are small data files stored on your device's browser that help us improve your experience and provide personalized features. We use PostHog to analyze user behavior and improve our product and services. 3a. Listing Analytics

When you view a daycare or childcare listing on FindChildcare.ca, we record a single anonymous "view" entry so the provider who owns that listing can see how much interest their listing is receiving. Each entry contains:

- Your IP address (used to count one view per visitor per hour, so a single visitor refreshing the page does not inflate the count).
- Your browser's user-agent string (used to filter out automated crawlers and bots).
- The page that referred you to the listing, if any.
- A short random session identifier stored in your browser for the current tab only (cleared when you close the tab).

These entries are stored on our own servers, not shared with any third party, and are not used to identify you personally. The provider sees aggregate counts only — never your IP address, browser, or session identifier.

3b. AI Assistant Plugins

You can search FindChildcare.ca from inside ChatGPT or Claude using our plugin. When you do, the assistant sends our search tool only the search details it fills in from your conversation:

- The location to search: a city, province or postal code.
- Any filters: your child's age, whether you need an opening now, licensed care only, subsidy or CWELCC, and a language.

We do not receive your name, email address, account details or the rest of your conversation. Depending on the assistant and how it is set up, the request reaches us from the assistant provider's servers or from your own device; like every request to our site, its IP address appears in our web server and network security logs, but it is never stored with the search record described below. You do not need to share a street address; a city or the first three characters of a postal code is enough.

We use these details to return matching listings, and we keep a record of each request to the plugin (which assistant it came from, which tool it used, the search details above, how many listings matched, whether it succeeded, and when) to measure how the plugin is used and to improve it — for example, to find places where parents search and we have no listings yet. These records are stored on our own servers, are not linked to you, are not shared with any third party, and are deleted after 180 days.

Results contain only what providers have chosen to show on their public listings. Your conversation itself is handled by the assistant's provider under its own privacy policy: OpenAI Privacy Policy and Anthropic Privacy Policy. You can disconnect the plugin at any time in the assistant's settings.

The plugins are published in the ChatGPT and Claude directories by OLIHA.DEV on behalf of KidzLog Inc, which operates FindChildcare.ca.

4. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. However, we may share your information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our product and services.

5. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no data transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can also opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us.
